13 Hour Days = Not Fun

I started my externship.
Sigh.
I'm really trying to be happy and think positive but this has been a really crappy week for me. I wake up (I try to wake up) around 6:30. I leave my house for work around 7:40. I go home for lunch at 12:00. At lunch I have to get my scrubs and all my extern papers together. I get off of work at 5:00, have to change into my scrubs in the bathroom, then haul booty to the clinic. I get home at 8:45pm. I get to see Felix and Rowdy in the morning and at lunch and then when I get home at 8:45, Felix is getting ready to leave for work. I'm so tired at night that I don't have enough energy to play with Rowdy or to exercise or anything. I almost thought about quitting this whole thing, but not after 13 months. All I have been doing at my extern is office work. BORING. I am trained to draw blood. I am trained to give injections, and do UA's and Catheters and all other sorts of awesome things! And I'm doing office crap. I think I need to reconsider where I'm doing my extern at because this is not going to help me in the end. My big problem though? I am not fortunate enough to not have to work, or to only work part time. If I didn't have to work 40 hours a week, then I could be doing my extern at a lab and do Phelbotomy for 3 or 4 hours a day instead of boring office paperwork. But this place is pretty much my only option for evenings. I have some serious thinking to do.

My friend Christine is moving to Plano and I'm pretty sad about that. We met on a sunny day in October 2006 and have been inseparable ever since. We found out that we had a lot in common from our past and we do nothing but laugh the entire time we are together. We don't get to hang out as much because she is a workaholic and I don't like to get my drank on as much as her, LOL...but, we are still great friends and I'm going to miss her terribly. We can tell each other anything and we never judge one another. Thank you FRIEND, for being my friend. That's what we call each other, "Friend".

Well, I guess I should do some work. Nah, I'll probably sit here for another hour and stare at my monitor pretending to work.

xoxo
